HOMOSEXUALITATEA-INITIERE RITUALA

Written by Aurel CODOBAN on . Posted in Volume I, Nr. 4

ABSTRACT

Besides the legal and common meaning, homosexuality may be interpreted as related to a wider cultural and historical code. In Greek and Roman antiquity, the meaning was a ritualic one: the experience of passing into the other gender before taking ori his own. In the 18-th century, its meaning was a snobbish social identity. I assume that in the late modernity homosexuality is a sacrilegious access to the resacralisation of sexuality.

KEYWORDS: homosexuality, cultural and historical code, sacrilegious resacralization.
