Abstract:

The problem of identifying the consistency of personality has dichotomized the methodologies in two antagonistically strategies: nomothetic one and idiographic one. The present paper proposes a synthetic revision of the conceptual and methodological differences between the two antagonistic approaches. Then is followed briefly their parallel evolutions and the actual state of the art.
