MODELE NEUROBIOLOGICE ALE MEMORIEI OLFACTIVE ACCESORII
ABSTRACT
The mammalian vomeronasal chemosensory system appears to be critical for learning chemosensory cues important in normal social functioning and for maintaining certain behaviors in animals and humans. This chemosensory complex represents the primary system by which some mammalian species process and store socially relevant signals. There are two models proposed for the pheromone-induced memory in mammals: the vasopressinergic model and the accessory synaptic plasticity model.
