ABSTRACT

Georgian market of dating ads was studied using a sequential exploratory strategy, to see whether it repeats the worldwide trend: men look for attractive and younger women, and women look for older and economically well-off men. Numeric content analysis of dating ads provided evidence that the worldwide trend of choosing a partner is repeated by Georgian women and men. Focus group discussion elicited interesting information on specificity of Georgian culture related to choosing a partner, mainly in terms of double gender norms.
