ABSTRACT

This article is an introductory text to the area of qualitative strategies and methods. Its emphasis is very much on methods within psychology, such as individual interviewing, focus group and observation. Methodological issues, the essential features and a description of the methods as applied to research, and a review of the advantages and limitations in their practice are provided.
